IP protection class description

The IP (INTERNATIONAL PROTECTION) protection level standard was drafted by IEC (INTERNATIONAL ELECTRO-TECHNICAL COMMISSION), the purpose is to classify electrical appliances and other equipment according to their dustproof and waterproof characteristics.

The IP protection level is composed of two numbers. The first marked number represents the level of the electrical appliance against dust and foreign objects intrusion. The second marked number represents the degree of airtightness of the electrical appliance against moisture and water intrusion. The larger the number, the higher the protection.
