      The overall LED display market in my country is becoming saturated, and the vast overseas market has become the focus of many screen companies. Due to the impact of the epidemic this year, my country's LED display companies pay more attention to the overseas market of LED displays. According to customs statistics, in the first half of this year, the total value of China's trade in goods was 14.24 trillion yuan, down 3.2% year-on-year, and the rate of decline narrowed by 1.7 percentage points compared with the previous five months. Among them, exports were 7.71 trillion yuan, a decrease of 3%; imports were 6.53 trillion yuan, a decrease of 3.3%. The overall decline was not large.   The import and export market began to stabilize in the first and second quarters, but the overseas market for LED screens is still severe: According to customs data, in the first quarter of this year, my country's foreign trade imports and exports were 6.57 trillion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 6.4%. Among them, exports were 3.33 trillion yuan, down 11.4%; imports were 3.24 trillion yuan, down 0.7%; in the second quarter, my country’s foreign trade imports and exports were 7.67 trillion yuan, down 0.2% year-on-year, and the rate of decline narrowed 6.3 percentage points from the first quarter. On a monthly basis, since April, exports have achieved positive growth for three consecutive months. In June, imports and exports increased by 5.1% year-on-year, of which exports increased by 4.3% and imports increased by 6.2%. From a quarterly perspective, after experiencing the shocks in the first quarter, imports and exports stabilized in the second quarter. In terms of months, the decline in imports and exports has narrowed since March, and foreign trade imports and exports have rebounded. By June, both exports and imports achieved positive growth. Judging from the overall import and export value in the first half of the year, overseas markets have picked up.        Although my country's import and export value rebounded in the second quarter, the rebound was mainly driven by the increase in imports of bulk commodities and key agricultural products, as well as the rapid growth in the export of epidemic prevention materials and "home economy" products. As a non-protected and non-"home economy" small commodity, LED display screens are not among the rebound in import and export value in the first half of the year. Therefore, the overseas market for LED displays is still severe. Moreover, the overseas epidemic is still serious. Except for the orderly opening of theaters and cinemas in China, other countries have not explicitly stipulated that they can open gathering venues. Therefore, the overseas market development activities of LED screen companies in the second half of the year are still unclear.

ASEAN has become the number one foreign trade market, which coincides with the LED display foreign trade market: In the first half of the year, due to the continuation of the Sino-US trade war and the impact of the US epidemic, my country’s imports and exports to the US were 1.64 trillion yuan, a 6.6% drop; The EU's imports and exports were 1.99 trillion yuan, a decrease of 1.8%; and the ASEAN imports and exports were 2.09 trillion yuan, an increase of 5.6%, accounting for 14.7% of my country's total foreign trade. According to the "Blue Book of China's LED Display Industry Analysis and Forecast" data, China's LED displays were mainly exported to Asia in 2018, mainly India, Vietnam, South Korea, Turkey, Japan, Russia, Malaysia and other countries, as well as Hong Kong, China and Taiwan. The North American market ranks second, mainly exported to the United States. The United States is the country with the highest export volume of China’s LED displays. It can be seen that Malaysia and Vietnam, which are members of ASEAN, have been the main markets for my country’s LED displays in recent years. one.

 

   In recent years, the LED display market in Southeast Asia has risen, coupled with the intensified Sino-US trade war, Southeast Asia has become an important strategic position for my country's LED screen companies in the overseas market. In October last year, the "China-ASEAN Free Trade Area Upgrade Agreement (hereinafter referred to as the "Agreement") took effect in full, lowering the threshold in terms of ASEAN rules of origin, trade clearance agreements, service trade, and investment. Dividends implemented in the free trade zone. The lowering of customs thresholds in Southeast Asian countries is conducive to the reduction of the cost of LED screen companies to open up the market, and it is conducive to LED screen companies to vigorously develop the Southeast Asian market.

 

   In addition, in the first half of the year, my country had close industrial ties with ASEAN countries such as Vietnam, Malaysia, and Singapore, and the import and export scale of related products such as integrated circuits continued to increase. In the first half of this year, my country imported 226.81 billion yuan of integrated circuits from ASEAN, an increase of 23.8%, accounting for 24.2% of the total value of imports from ASEAN, and exports of integrated circuits to ASEAN were 89.68 billion yuan, an increase of 29.1%, and accounting for 7.8% of the total value of exports to ASEAN. From this, it can be seen that the import and export trade of integrated circuits between my country and ASEAN is active. The LED display chips, lamp beads, etc. are also integrated circuit products. In addition, my country's lamp beads quality and production capacity are among the highest in the world. For the ASEAN member states pay more attention to the issue of price, my country's LED lamp beads manufacturers and modules have relatively large The price advantage of “Agreement” meets the needs of countries in Southeast Asia for high-quality and low-cost products. Therefore, the active trade of integrated circuits is conducive to the export of LED lamp beads, modules and display screens in my country. The favorable policies of the "Agreement" further open up Southeast Asian market.

 

   Due to the continuous performance of the US 377 investigation, the increase of customs taxation, the difficulty of opening up the US LED display market, and the continuous increase of the domestic epidemic situation, the US market, which is the largest exporter of my country’s LED display screens, has been difficult to develop. At this time, ASEAN has become my country’s largest trading partner in the first half of this year. With the support of the "Agreement" favorable policies, it will be beneficial for my country’s LED screen companies to increase market development in ASEAN countries and further tap the market gaps in Southeast Asia.
