1. LED brightness

The brightness of light-emitting diodes is generally expressed by Luminous Intensity, and the unit is candela cd; 1000ucd (microcandela) = 1 mcd (millicandela), 1000mcd = 1 cd. The light intensity of a single LED for indoor use is generally 500ucd-50 mcd, while the light intensity of a single LED for outdoor use should generally be 100 mcd-1000 mcd, or even more than 1000 mcd.

2. LED pixel module

The LEDs are arranged in a matrix or pen segment, prefabricated into standard size modules. Indoor LED displays are commonly used 8*8 pixel modules, 8-character 7-segment digital modules. Outdoor LED display pixel modules have 4*4, 8*8, 8*16 pixels and other specifications. The pixel module for outdoor display screens is also called a tube bundle module because each pixel is composed of more than two LED tube bundles.

3. Pixel and pixel diameter

Each LED light-emitting unit (dot) that can be individually controlled in the LED display screen is called a pixel (or pixel). Pixel diameter ∮ refers to the diameter of each pixel in millimeters.

For indoor displays, generally one is a single LED with a circular shape. The common indoor display pixel diameter calibrations are ∮3.0, ∮3.75, ∮5.0, ∮8.0, etc. Among them, ∮3.75 and ∮5.0 are the most common.

In the outdoor environment, in order to improve the brightness and increase the viewing distance, one pixel contains more than two cluster LEDs; since more than two cluster LEDs are generally not circular, the pixel diameter of the outdoor display screen is generally expressed by the average distance between two pixels. : PH10, PH11.5, PH16, PH22, PH25.

4. Dot pitch, pixel density and information capacity

The center distance or dot pitch (Dot Pitch) of two or two pixels of the LED display screen; the number of pixels per unit area is called pixel density; the number of displayed contents per unit area is called information capacity. The essence of these three is to describe the same concept: the dot pitch reflects the pixel density from the distance between two pixels, the dot pitch and pixel density are the physical properties of the display screen; the information capacity is the information carrying capacity of the pixel density quantity unit.

The smaller the dot pitch, the higher the pixel density, the more information capacity, and the closer the viewing distance is. The larger the dot pitch, the lower the pixel density, the smaller the information capacity, and the longer the distance suitable for viewing.

5. Resolution

The number of rows and columns of LED display pixels is called the resolution of LED display. Resolution is the total number of pixels on the display, which determines the information capacity of a display.

6, LED display (LED Panel)

The LED pixel modules are assembled and arranged into a matrix according to the actual needs, with special display drive circuit, DC voltage stabilized power supply, software, frame and external decoration, etc., to form an LED display screen.

7. Grayscale

Grayscale refers to the degree of light-dark change of the pixel. The grayscale of a primary color generally ranges from 8 to 1024 levels. For example, if the grayscale of each primary color is 256 levels, for a dual-primary color screen, the display color is 256×256=64K colors, which is also called a 256-color display screen.

8. Double primary color

Most of today's color LED displays are dual-color color screens, that is, each pixel has two LED dies: one is a red die, and the other is a green die. When the red light dies are on, the pixel is red, when the green dies are on, the pixel is green, and when both red and green dies are on at the same time, the pixel is yellow. Among them, red and green are called primary colors.

9. Full color

Red and green two primary colors plus blue primary colors, three primary colors constitute a full color. Since the technology for forming full-color blue tubes and pure green dies is now mature, full-color is basically used in the market.
