LED lamp beads are already a very familiar product in the LED display industry, but many people don’t know much about the price of LED lamp beads. What makes the price of LED lamp beads so different? See below You can clearly understand the introduction, let's take a look at the influencing factors of the price of LED lamp beads.

LED size: LEDs of different specifications and sizes have different prices. For example, the price of 0603 LED and 1210 or 3528 LED are quite different; and the price of LED of 1210 and 5050 specifications is another step. Don't just pay attention to the price when buying LED lamp beads. It should be comprehensively assessed from the following aspects in order to purchase high-quality and low-cost LED lamp beads.

Chips used in LED lamp beads: Chips include domestic and Taiwanese chips as well as imported chips (including American chips, Japanese chips, German chips, etc.). The price of chips varies greatly. At present, American chips are the most expensive, followed by Japanese chips and German chips. The low-priced Taiwanese chips have poor heat dissipation performance. What chip is used? What kind of effect do you want to achieve? Before you buy, you must be aware of it.

LED package: divided into resin package and silicone package. The price of resin encapsulation is cheaper. Everything else is the same. Silicone encapsulation has good heat dissipation performance, so the price is slightly more expensive than resin encapsulation.

LED color consistency: At present, there are many packaging factories in China. There are thousands of companies, big and small, and of course there are strengths and weaknesses. There are many small packaging factories that do not have spectroscopy and color separation machines, so they either do not perform spectroscopy or are outsourced, so it is difficult to guarantee the quality. The color consistency of LEDs that have not undergone color separation is poor, and the effect after lighting on the LED lamp beads is not so good, of course, the price difference is relatively large.

LED welding effect: The assembly of LED lamp beads is divided into manual welding and machine welding. Manual soldering is to use a soldering iron, using the most primitive method for soldering. The products with this kind of operation have an ugly appearance (the solder joint size is inconsistent), and the electrostatic maintenance measures are not good. Many LED chips are broken down, which causes the phenomenon of dim or no light when the power is turned on. Machine soldering uses reflow soldering, but machine soldering is different. Not only the appearance of the soldered product is beautiful (the solder joints are the same size, the solder joints are smooth, there is no flux residue, and the LED package is intact), but the chip will not be burned by static electricity. At the same time, the LED position and direction are more beautiful. This can be seen directly from the appearance.

FPC material: FPC is divided into two types: rolled copper and copper-clad. Copper-clad boards are cheaper, and rolled copper is more expensive. The pads of the copper-clad board are easy to fall off when bent, but the rolled copper will not. The specific FPC material to be used depends on the seller's decision according to the use environment.

Is FPC certified for environmental protection and UL certification? Is there a patent for LED? There is no low price. Certified and patented ones are more expensive.

LED brightness: LEDs with different brightness have different prices. The price difference between ordinary brightness and high brightness LED is quite large. Therefore, you must clearly know what kind of brightness you need when buying, so that you can accurately position your product.

LED color: different colors. The price is different. Red and green are more difficult to match and separate, so the price is higher than other colors; red, yellow, blue and other colors are easier to separate and have better consistency, so the price is slightly cheaper. Special colors such as purple and brown are the most expensive due to color matching reasons.
